In the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, a Seminar was held under the title “Effect of some cytokines on the receptor of the virus in patients with COVID – 19” Hawraa Kadhum Musa presented an introduction about Coronavirus and its receptor in human, This study found : COVID-19 patients have a higher concentration of ACE2, sRAGE, IL-6, and IL-10 than the control group. There is a significant correlation of serum ACE2 with IL-6 and IL-10. These results indicated the dependence of the ACE2 and sRAGE on the immune biomarkers IL-6 and IL-10. The results show that immune-inflammatory, ACE2 and RAGE pathway biomarkers may be used as external validating criterion for the diagnosis COVID-19 and Higher concentrations of these cytokines seem to suggest a more severe clinical course, Those pathways coupled with lowered SpO2, calcium and magnesium are drug targets that may help to reduce the consequences of COVID – 19 .
